Social Media Provokes Awareness

Social Media Is Many to Many Conversations, Its No Longer One Way

I recently watched an interesting video from TED. It summed up the way we as humans communicated, and how the Internet, and social media is changing all that. The question you have to ask yourself is:

How Are You Using Social Media?

I use it for many things, for business, for personal and enjoyment. Recently, I was compelled to use it for not so comfortable reasons...

It all started when I heard about Jaclyn Torrealba, the teen who was murdered by her 30 year old boyfriend, a popular DJ in South Florida. It was a tragic case of an unhealthy relationship that ended in murder. A link is provided in the end of the blog, if you want to read more about it.

Which leads me to my next mention.

I helped start Exobus (South Florida Party Bus Company) due to the fact that there were staggering statistics about drunk & careless driving. So I decided to be proactive and post a blog on our company site to bring awareness of the fact. A link is also in the bottom of this blog.

To say the least, I am using Social Media because I also want to help with the issues of this lost generation.

Spread the word, and be the change that you want to see in this world.

Watch the Lost Generation Video too...appreciate your comments.

PS.

Chris Brogan is a great example of an advocate & speaker of social media, while also putting it to use for the greater common good. Visit http://skip1.org, a charity he supports.

The Darkness in The Nightlife - Jaclyn Torrealba Tragedy

It Just Doesn't Happen Here, It Happens Everywhere

Being an owner/operator of Exobus, a South Florida party bus company, we get quick news about what's going on in the nightlife in the area. Last weekend, we heard about Jaclyn Torrealba, who at the time was just 18 years old, was murdered by her 30 year old boyfriend, Juan Carlos Portieles, or as known to many as DJ Seasunz.

We posted a blog about it on our company site:

After reading quite a few responses on Twitter and Facebook, we wanted to post some useful resources, so things like this, can be avoided.

If your in a dangerous relationship, or you know someone, give them the help they need, don't wait for something like this to happen.

Once again, our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Torrealba family.
